Official documentation shows this product does not offer the task. CockroachDB Cloud does not offer database/project branching (copy-from-existing branch) through its management API. The complete Cloud API v1 endpoint index lists only Clusters (list, create, get, delete, patch, connection string, nodes), Backup/Restore, Databases, SQL Users, Folders, Physical Cluster Replication, etc. — there is no branch resource or any "create cluster/database from parent branch" operation; cluster creation accepts only name, provider, and spec (plan/regions/usage limits), with no parent or source-branch parameter. The Cloud API overview likewise documents lifecycle management of clusters (create, scale/edit, delete, SQL users, maintenance) with no branching feature. Therefore the task's required step — creating a branch of a database through the documented API and diverging its schema from an unchanged parent — cannot be performed with CockroachDB.
